Yvonne Spence and Owen Donnelly invite you to participate in an in-person Introduction to the Sedona Method in Edinburgh on 25th – 26th April 2026.
At times, life can feel stressful, and we find it hard to cope. Our emotions run riot and our minds spin trying to think about what to do. Our bodies get contracted and tense making us more prone to sickness. So the stress-cycle goes on.
There is another way. It’s something that can bring relief and ease, even in challenging times.
Have you ever seen a small child go from howling one moment to laughing the next? Small children feel their emotions – sometimes intensely – and they express them. But they don’t hang onto them; they let go. As we grow up, we somehow lose that knack. I say “somehow” as if it’s a mystery, but, really, it’s not. Small children learn by watching adults and as well as learning how to walk, talk and tie our shoelaces, we also learn to suppress our feelings. Whilst sometimes we do need to stay quiet, most of us have learned to suppress emotions more often than is healthy for us. The Sedona Method enables us to allow our feelings and to gently release them.
Would you like to rediscover your natural ability to let emotions and thoughts come and go? Would you like to feel relief and ease? If so, please come join us on April 25th and 26th at the Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh for this Introduction to The Sedona Method workshop.
What you can expect at the workshop
Small group support
In a small group setting, you will be introduced to aspects of the Sedona Method. There will be opportunities to work with the instructors to find relief from troubling feelings and to experience ease. This workshop in suitable for beginners and for people who have experience of the Sedona Method. All are welcome!
Partnership exercises
You will have opportunities to work in partnership to facilitate others. Mutual support is a powerful part of the Sedona Method and enables you to go on using it in everyday life. Facilitating also usually brings releases for the person asking the questions as well as the person answering!
Fun
Although the Sedona Method supports people to break free of emotions and beliefs that have held them back in life, this often happens with a lot of laughter! The Sedona Method helps us to see humour in life and workshops can be fun.
How you might feel – what previous participants say:
“It’s like 6 months of therapy in a day!”
“The weekend with Yvonne and Owen was really amazing. It really feels profound and life changing. I’ve been giving people the tingles when I talk about my experience on the Edinburgh weekend!”
“I’ve travelled by plane for the first time in more than 25 years.”
“I recently gave a presentation at work. I was getting very anxious and then I remembered the Sedona Method, I asked myself some releasing questions and began to feel better. I noticed my confidence grow as I gave the presentation and I received really good feedback”
“Yvonne and Owen’s workshop was a great introduction to, and reminder of the principles of the Sedona Method. The format and setting were both great and the number of participants was ideal for working together, and in smaller groups and pairs. I felt welcomed and at ease from the start and was reminded of techniques which I now use to help recognise my emotions in daily life, and which contribute to my mental health generally. I feel inspired to explore these further.“
Meet your instructors

Owen Donnelly is in private practice as a counsellor, supervisor and trainer. He has been using the Sedona Method in his personal life since 2013 and with clients since 2016. He completed the Sedona Method Facilitator Training in 2021, renewing every year since.
He has found that using the Sedona Method has helped him to relax more in his client work and to simply be more fully present with them. He has also noticed a great increase in self-compassion and self-acceptance and his clients report many benefits.
Owen lives in Donegal in the Northwest of Ireland.

Yvonne Spence was introduced to the Sedona Method in 2008 and found it helped with work, relationships and life in general. Anxiety decreased, good feelings increased. Soon she began sharing the method with friends and family members and took the Facilitator training in 2016. She found aspects of the Sedona Method particularly helpful for letting go of self-judgements and developing self-compassion. When coaching one to one, she loves to support people to let go of being hard on themselves and to choose self-kindness. She brings this same compassionate approach to workshops.

For Counsellors and Therapists
If you are a counsellor, you will find that after taking the introductory course, as Owen did, you can easily integrate the Sedona Method into your practice. At times we will be working in partnerships, during which each person facilitates the other. This gives the opportunity to continue releasing after the workshop is over. For counsellors and coaches, attendance certificates for CPD purposes are available on request.
